We’re back! Join Buffy Wicks and Sally Smith as they kick off Season 2 of The Riveters, your unfiltered ode to modern womanhood. In this episode Sally sits down with three writers at The Atlantic magazine who are kicking ass and writing a new series called ‘Who Run the World?’. They discuss how women leadership has evolved through entertainment and what it will take for us to embrace healthy, female ambition.

Fusion tv anchor Alicia Menendez talks to us about her show on Fusion, finding her passion for media, fending off Zika while pregnant in Miami, and growing up in the most densely populated city in the country (hint, it’s not New York City…). Join Buffy and Sally as they discuss “emotional privilege”, getting cat-called while pregnant and more.

Living My Authentic Self: Sarah McBride

Human Rights Campaign national spokesperson Sarah McBride, the first transgender woman to address a national convention, sits down with Buffy to talk about her transition, being true to yourself, and the fight for equal rights. Sally and Buffy also catch up and reflect on the power of female friendships.

Leilani Münter joins Sally to discuss what it’s like to be an environmental activist racecar driver, serving vegan food at Nascar, and being intentionally childless to combat overpopulation. Acclaimed producer, writer, and activist Kathy Eldon joins us to talk about how she works to inspire creative activism around the world. She founded and runs the Creative Visions Foundation in memory of her son, Dan, who was killed working as a journalist in Somalia. Sally and Buffy explore how they’ve used stories to inspire activism, and Buffy trains us on how to tell our “story of self.”

It’s that time of year again: the leaves are turning, the turkeys are gobbling, and family members are gathering around the table to fight about politics. Here are the Riveters, we’re reflecting on what we are thankful for (hint: rhymes with Hillary Clinton), and how to approach conversations with our family members who we passionately disagree with. Sally also sits down with the Emmy-award winning choreographer Kathryn Burns to hear her story of how she became the go-to choreographer to stars like Amy Poehler, Key and Peele, and many more.

Protecting the Environment: Lisa Jackson

Lisa Jackson, the Former EPA Administrator and current Vice President at Apple, joins Buffy to discuss her career and how she’s leveraged both the public and private sectors to protect the environment. Lisa shares her path about growing up in New Orleans and seeing the impact of climate change and natural disasters on her own family. We also welcome our newest Riveter — Buffy’s baby Josephine! Fellow Riveter Missy Ownes jumps in to co-host with Sally and chat about how we’re taking care of ourselves this holiday season and new year.
